Mohawk Day Camp is a day camp like no other – uniquely focused on delivering fantastic camper experiences. We offer dynamic programming in state-of-the-art facilities, situated on 40 beautiful acres in White Plains, NY., and serve families in lower Westchester County, New York City, and areas of Connecticut. Celebrating our 94th summer, we have a position available to join our team as Camp Transportation Manager. Camp Transportation Manager

The Transportation Manager will be an essential member of the transportation team that facilitates the door-to-door busing of campers and staff to and from camp. This position requires a candidate that is incredibly detailed, organized, and technologically proficient in a variety of computer programs. You should be able to multitask, prioritize duties, and have strong communication skills for communicating with parents and staff members.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the routing of camper & staff bus routes and stops in lower Westchester, New York City, and areas of Connecticut
  • Coordinate with various contracted bus companies
  • Serve as a contact for parents regarding transportation changes or concerns
  • Supervise morning arrival and afternoon dismissal
  • Verify that buses are on schedule and proactively make adjustments as needed
  • Report and confirm changes in service to bus companies in a timely manner
  • Manage bus counselors and assign substitute bus counselors as needed
  • Perform special projects, as directed by the transportation director
  • Assist with the development and facilitation of bus counselor training

  • Resourcefulness when solving unforeseen problems
  • Ability to work non-standard hours including evenings and weekends in-season, as needed and during the summer; regular, on-time and dependable attendance is a must

Qualifications

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 2 to 5 years experience working in operations, logistics or parallel field
  • Warm personality with strong communication skills
  • Ability to work well under limited supervision
  • Ability to analyze and organize data
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, camp management programs, Google Suite and overall aptitude for learning new computer programs

Compensation Details

  • Salary Range $55,000 to $65,000
