Preschool Years

Our preschool camp represents an area of particular expertise at Mohawk. For almost 80 years we have been educating young children in the nursery school, kindergarten and first grade of our own Mohawk Country Home School.

Our deep understanding of our youngest campers' needs and potential has enabled us to create an outstanding preschool program appropriate for the children's physical abilities, attention spans, and emotional development. Barbara Schainman, Co-Director, and Carole Bouchier, Preschool Camp Division Director, are exceptionally skilled at working with our beginning campers and their families.

Every summer we carefully select area nursery school and kindergarten teachers to join our Home School teachers in leading our preschool camp groups. With a camper to staff ratio of 3:1 or 4:1, our youngest campers enjoy programs and specialties that are separate from older campers.

In order to properly meet the needs of this age group, we offer three registration options:

Half-Day: 9:00 AM - Noon

Camp provides morning transportation.

Mini-Day: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

Camp provides morning transportation and lunch. (PM transportation may be available – please call us for more information!)

Full-Day: 9:00 AM - 4:30 PM

Camp provides two-way transportation and lunch.
